DU CIE B.Ed 2018 Dates (Official)

The DU CIE B.Ed 2018 online application process had started from 18th May 2018 and closed on 7th June 2018. All the eligible students who fill the DU CIE B.Ed 2018 application form can appear for entrance test which is going to held on 18th June 2018 (4:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Eligibility Criteria

You can check here the DU CIE B.Ed 2018 eligibility criteria. The candidates who are interested in applying for the course of Bachelor of Education must fulfill either Part A or Part B.

A. Minimum Qualifying Marks

Category I: The interested candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Graduation or/and in post graduation degree of Commerce/ Humanities/ Social Science/ Science

Category II: The interested candidates must have obtained the minimum of 55% marks either in Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering with specialization in Mathematics and Science

B. Choosing Teaching Subject

The candidates will choose only 1 subject from the given one. This subject must be studied by him either in Graduation or Post Graduation. He/ she must have obtained at least 50% marks in this particular subject. The subject chosen from the category of the subject will remain same through the program of B. Ed.

A) Sciences:  Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Home Science, Integrated Science
B) Languages Sanskrit: Hindi, English
C) Social Sciences: History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Social Science
D) Other Subjects: Commerce, Psychology, Sociology
E) Other Languages: Punjabi, Urdu

Candidates who want to choose the subjects like Commerce, Psychology and Sociology must have post graduation degree in the respective subject.

Relaxation:

The minimum eligibility requirement for the candidates of the SC and ST category is that they should pass either the qualifying school or degree examination. Other Backward Classes (OBC),  Persons with Disabilities (PWD, Children/Widows/Wives of Armed Personnel, including ParaMilitary Personnel, killed/disabled in Action (CW) category candidates will have a minimum concession of 5% marks in the minimum marks required for admission.

How to apply

The interested candidates need to follow few simple steps for filling the DU CIE B.Ed 2018 online application form. The steps are as follows:

  • They will go to  Delhi University PG admission Portal http://admission.du.ac.in
  • Then they will download the B. Ed Prospectus and will read it carefully which is available at http//cie.du.ac.in.
  • They can check their eligibility before filling in the application form.
  • After that, they will click on the link for filling the online application form. They will follow all the steps as per the instructions are given in the prospectus for filling the application form.
  • The candidates must select the reaching subject carefully as afterward no change will be allowed.
  • They should also select the center of examination carefully as no change will be allowed after submission of application form.
  • Once the payment is made, the candidates should take the print out of the application form. It will be required during the allotment process.

Application Fees

The candidates of the General Category will pay INR 500. Likewise, candidates of OBC category will also pay INR 500 as application fees. Whereas the candidates of SC, ST, and PWD category will pay RS 250 as application fees.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The admission in the program of Bachelor of Education will be done through entrance exam only. The entrance exam will consist of 400 marks. The admission will be offered on the basis of the merit prepared after the declaration of result. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidate in the entrance test.

There will be 100 questions in the entrance test. Each question will carry 4 marks each. There is the provision of negative marking and 1 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The questions in the entrance test will include the understanding of different concepts of Mathematics, Social Science, and Science at the school level.

In the exam, there will be language comprehension in both the languages of Hindi and English. The other questions will be from Social issues, political issues, economic issues, general awareness, reasoning and teaching aptitude. Scheme of Exam:

  • Subject Knowledge at School Level
    • This section will consist of 240 marks
    • questions will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (English or Hindi)
  • Reasoning, Teaching Aptitude and general awareness
    • This section will consist of 80 marks
    • questions will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (English or Hindi)
  • Language Proficiency (in English and Hindi)
    • This section will consist of 80 marks

Reservation of Seats

The reservation of seats in the course of B. Ed. is as follows:

  • OBC: 27% seats in each course
  • Scheduled Tribe: 7.5% seats in each course
  • Scheduled Caste: 15% seats in each course
