JEE Main 2018: Form, Exam Dates, Notification, Eligibility

JEE Main 2018 Notification is declared in November 2017 and the online Registration Form for JEE Main 2018 will be filled from 01 December 2017. JEE Main is conducted by CBSE for admission in B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch course. Admission in Engineering UG courses is based on JEE Main/ Advanced scorecard. JEE Main is one of the popular entrance exams under the engineering admission category. The candidates get admission in the National Institute of Technology, Govt/ Private B.Tech Colleges on the basis of JEE Main 2018 scorecard. To get admission in IIT, ISM Dhanbad the candidate has to qualify in for JEE Advanced after passing the JEE Main Exam.

JEE Main 2018 Latest Update

According to the recent update on JEE Main 2018, the students have to score minimum 75% marks in their class 12th to become eligible for admission to IITs, NITS and other Engineering Institutions. But this 12th marks will not be calculated in the Rank Calculation.

The online form of JEE Main 2018 is submitted at official website jeemain.nic.in. JEE Main 2018 Updates

The JEE Main 2018 Application Form are going to get filled from 1st December 2017. The JEE Main Application Form will be filled through the official website of the Board. All the eligible students can fill the JEE Main 2018 Exam Forms until 1st January 2018 whereas the last date for fee payment is 2nd January 2018.

The JEE Main 2018 Offline Mode exam will be conducted on 8th April 2018 whereas the Online Mode exam will be conducted on 15th and 16th April 2018. JEE Main Exam 2018

JEE Main Entrance Exam comprises two parts ie. JEE Main and JEE Advance. The exam is conducted in the objective mode. JEE Main is one the most challenging entrance exam conducted in India for admission in B.Tech/ B.E/ B.Arch UG course in Engineering colleges. It can be considered as one of the biggest entrance exam conducted in Asia.

Earlier it was conducted in the form of AIEEE but in the year 2012, Government decided to replace it with JEE Mains exam which will be run by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

CBSE also organize other entrance examination ie. UGC NET, NEET-UG, CTET every year apart from 10th and 12th class board examination.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are going to appear for JEE Main 2018 entrance exam should be under the following eligibility criteria. The age and age relaxation are also there in official notification. The candidate must check their eligibility before filling JEE Main 2018 application form.

JEE Main 2018 Age Limit

The minimum and maximum age required for CBSE JEE Main 2018 application is given below.

  • Date of Birth: Candidates those born on or after 1st October 1994 are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.
  • Age relaxation: Under the Govt rule, 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit for SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1989).
  • Date of Birth will be considered as mentioned in secondary education board certificate

JEE Main Qualification

The candidate passes in 10+2 board examination with PCM subjects. Please read more details below.

  • Qualifying Exam: The candidates must be passed  12th examination/qualifying with 5 subjects to be eligible for JEE Main 2018.
  • Subjects: The candidates must qualifying the examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
  • No Minimum Marks: There are no minimum marks required in the 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. The candidates will have to secure the passing marks.
  • Passing Year: The candidates who have appeared and passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 are also eligible to apply.
  • Diploma Holders: The candidate that completed their Diploma from various subjects may also apply for JEE Main 2018 but only eligible for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.
