JEE main is the examination through which candidates can get into the B.Tech/B.Arch courses offered by the IITs, NITs & other engineering institutions. JEE main is considered as the qualifying exam for JEE advanced. If the candidate qualifies the JEE main examination, only then the student can give the examination of JEE advanced or he/she is eligible for JEE advanced.

JEE Main 2018 Updates

JEE Main 2018 exam will be conducted on 8th April 2018 in Offline Mode and on 15th & 16th April 2018 in Online Mode. This year in rank deciding, the 12th marks will not be considered, but you need score minimum 75% marks to become eligible for the admissions to various IITs, NITs, and Engineering Institutes. There are some new features which Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE)has added to the JEE main and JEE Advanced. Read the points given below to know the new the latest features/updates regarding the JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED examination-

  • Now, for calculating the JEE main rank, the weight age of 12th marks will not be considered.
  • Any student with PCM can appear in JEE main examination as there is no minimum criteria for the 12th percentage to appear in the examination.
  • Candidates in general category should score minimum 75% in the 12th class examination to get admissions in IITs, NITs and other engineering institutions. For SC, ST students, this minimum percentage required is 65% in 12th
  • All Indian candidates should possess their AADHAAR card at the time of filling application form of JEE main 2018. Fill your AADHAAR card in the application form like – Name, AADHAAR Number, Date of Birth & gender. If all the details given by candidates do not match correctly, in that situation, the application form of the candidate will be rejected.


All the candidates appearing for the JEE main examination should have their Admit card at the time of the examination. They cannot enter without the Hall Ticket or Admit Card in the exam hall and it is expected that the admit card of JEE main 2018 will be available by mid-march 2018 on the official website of JEE main.


The result of JEE MAIN 2018 is expected to be announced in the last week of April and the result of paper 2, that is for B.Arch. is expected to be declared by the end of May i.e. last week of May whereas the counseling should take place in the first week of July 2018.
