RRB ALP Selection Process

As we know that the Railway Recruitment Board is about to conduct exam for selection of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician to fulfil the seat available in railway.

The Railway Recruitment Board will conduct this exam in four stage and the candidates those appear and qualify all the stage will be considered as selected. We are going to provide you RRB Assistant Loco Pilot Selection Process in detail.

RRB ALP and Technician CBT Stage-I

The Computer Based Test Stage-I is common for all the students. The score of CBT Stage-I will be considered only for select the candidates for CBT Stage-II.

The CBT 1st Stage exam for Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician is of screening nature and the pattern of this exam is mentioned below in the table. There is 75 Objective and Multiple Choice Questions and the duration of this exam is one-hour or 60 minutes.

The questions are from General Science, Maths (10th and 12th level), General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness of Current Affairs. There will be one-third negative marking for one wrong answer.

RRB ALP and Technician CBT Stage-II

The Computer Based Test Stage-II is for the candidates those will qualify the Computer Based Test Stage-I exam. All the shortlisted students have to appear for CBT Stage-II exam.

There are two parts for CBT 2nd Stage exam i.e. Part A and Part B. This 2nd stage exam is of the total duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. For more details about the RRB ALP Selection Process, you should visit the official website.

Part A: All the candidates those will qualify the CBT Stage-I exam will be eligible. The syllabus of this exam will approx same as that of CBT Stage-I Exam. The duration of CBT Stage-II Part A Exam is 90 minutes And there are total 100 questions.

Part B: The CBT Stage-II Part B Exam is qualifying in nature and there are questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of
Employment & Training (DGET).

The candidates of IT, 10+2, Diploma, B.Tech (Engineering), in various Branches are can appear for CBT Stage-II Part B Exam. The duration is 60 minutes and there is the total number of 75 questions.

Aptitude Test (AT)

The Aptitude Test will be computer-based and there is no negative marking for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test. The candidates those want a job for Technician they can directly go for Document Verification after qualifying the CBT Stage-I and CBT Stage-II Exam.

All the questions will be in Hindi and English language. The students must have to secure minimum 42 marks in each test batteries and there will be no relaxation.

The merit list will be prepared for Assistant Loco Pilot is on the basis of the 70% weight of the marks obtained in CBT Stage-II Part A and 30% weight of the marks obtained in Aptitude Test (Computer Based).

Document Verification

All the selected students have to appear for document verification. Students must carry all the important original documents along with them. The required documents such as:

  • 10+2 mark-sheet
  • IT/ Diploma/ Degree mark-sheet
  • SC/ ST/ OBC Certificate
  • Medical Certificate (for PWD)
  • Income Certificate
  • Photocopy of Adhar Card
